Dear friends,
The most laborious time has come in the nancybentz.com website re-do. Going under construction is kinda like birthing a baby. Thankfully, unlike the “I don’t know nothin’ ’bout birthin’ no babies” Prissy in Gone With the Wind, I have learned a thing or two over the years of designing and maintaining two websites.
Next Tuesday, April 9, my knowledgeable and efficient webmaster, GretchenLouise, is taking ‘er down. We’re gonna sink the ship. We’re gonna dry dock her. We’re gonna disassemble her, then reassemble her. We’re gonna bury her, then resurrect her. We’re gonna lay hands on her and pray new life into her. Whichever mixed metaphor you like best, you get the picture –
we’re going to be under construction!
I’ll tell you right now, this one-woman shop (in my corner of our ministry) is feeling the press. Whatever grapes I possess in my soul are being squeezed out drop by drop to release new wine. The old wineskins, me and the website, are not sufficient to hold what the Lord planned and purposed long ago. I need Him.
This is a picture of me these days…note her furrowed brow. Giving your brain a good workout is hard work! We’re all familiar with the fact that one thing leads to another. This is so. Deeply “there’s so much!” so.
That is why this website is not going to be perfectly, completely finished when it’s launched three weeks beyond take-down. It’s coming into the world like we all do. It’s a baby, dear friends. There will be ongoing activity in this village for a long while.
The approach and fleshing out of the website re-do is not without great purpose. As I have shared since August 2018, the refocus is toward encouraging spiritual growth and development of our human spirit, wherein lies our unique design imprinted by our Creator. It’s about developing a responsive soul, and our physical body used as the jar of clay it is, daily strengthened by God to live out His will and divine purpose. All to the glory of the Triune One in whose image we were created and by whose Love we are constrained.
Some things can only be learned by experience in the school of life. Other times, Holy Spirit speaks in a brief but powerful way that is like dropping another foundation stone into solid place. The thud of truth reverberates throughout one’s entire being when that occurs. It becomes something we can build on.
What will be forthcoming is part of the reaping from years of sowing. From rocky, dry soil to fertile land.
By faith, I anticipate that what is shared on the re-birthed website will be used by God to further show, enrich, challenge, and nurture you in the truths and character of who He is and in turn, who you are.
Embracing your design for redemptive living…
It’s what’s for breakfast nearly every day for the next month. That, prayer, coffee, and this –
Let us bow our heads and break chocolate together. I feel the labor pains comin’ on …
Seriously, please continue to pray for me, Gretchen, and this undertaking when it comes to mind. I cherish it when ones who have said they will pray, really take time to do so. It makes a felt difference.
~ Nancy
