Let’s face it. Hands down, our feet are valuable.
– They take us places.
– They are our motivation in motion.
– And if they could talk, what stories they could tell!
Yes, they are quite valuable. But sometimes it’s a bit harder to convince our heart of that.
Blisters and bunions and calloused, oh my…
When growing a life, we discover sooner or later in our spiritual development that our heart and feet are connected.
Sometimes the heart has led and the feet have followed. Other times the feet have gotten out in front and drug the heart into places, experiences or relationships that left it blistered and calloused.
At times a bunion forms, reminding us with each painful step that we could use a pedicure for our heart.
Rosy toesies
I have noticed lately a social media blitz of feet photos. I’m all for well-cared-for feet, but I’m not drawn to admiring someone else’s rosy toesies. I would much rather hear their feet-heart connection and listen to their stories of ‘this little piggy went to …’ in order that the rest of them be brought into the picture.
Our beautiful feet are valuable, but of greater worth is our rosy heart after a much-needed beauty treatment.
A necessary part of spiritual growth and development is soaking our heart in healing streams, attending to the blisters and bunions (irritations which are like rough sandpaper and ‘out of joint’ pain) of life.
Fleet-footed
Something begins to occur when the feet-heart connection is established in our mind and soul. The more we recognize and tend to the heart-aches that ail us, the more our feet begin to grow strong, purposeful and motivated in a life-giving direction.
We become more fleet-footed as we begin to experience peace and embrace the news of the good things the Lord has shared during those heart pedicures.
Good news to our own heart connects to our feet, carrying us out of Bunionville and on up to the mountaintop.
There our feet become beautiful feet as we proclaim peace to others, share forward news of good things to ones needing a heart pedicure, and from the mountaintop proclaim salvation through our reigning King.
There are mountaintops for which the Lord desires to outfit you with beautiful feet.
With peace and good news,
~ Nancy

Hi Nancy,
Every time I hear this scripture I think of a class I took in Hawaii with a pastor from Korea.
He said in his church, the pastor would put on a beautiful pair of embroidered red slippers before he would proclaim
the word of God. That always stuck with me.
Your God reigns.
Donna
Donna – oh, I love that! I will now not forget that either – what a lovely picture of beautiful feet washed by the blood of Jesus. Thank you, my friend.
I too enjoyed the comment from Donna about the Pastor and his red slippers.
Blessings to all who read these writings.
Jan
Thank you, Jan. Much love to one who has beautiful feet. And slippers 🙂
