Prologue to Mercy Cycles ~ a 2020 Blessing

Sometimes when I write, statements get typed that bypass my cognition and appear on my laptop screen. The statement that follows from Mercy & The Principle of Fulfillment – Describing the Gift – Part 2 was such a time:

“As I write, it strikes me that wherever we see a cycle or pattern of seven playing out, if we look for it, God’s redeeming grace gift of Mercy will be present.”

That statement lingered in the forefront of my mind. Nudged by Holy Spirit, it seems my Prophet portion stepped forward to leave a clue regarding 2020. A few mornings later I sensed consider the pattern, a prompt I know well. So, I counted it out.

December 31, 2020 completes three cycles of seven years: the first day of 2000 through the last day of 2020.

Twenty-one years. Three Mercy cycles ~ a 2020 blessing I pray we do not overlook or lightly dismiss. Because, my friends, “if we look for it, God’s redeeming grace gift of Mercy will be present.” Both now and in retrospect.¹

Mercy Cycles ~ A 2020 Blessing

To the community of your human spirit, I bless you portion by portion with the gifts of your Father’s Name:

Prophet

Jehovah-Jireh – your Father’s Name that bears His promise of provision. God Provides. Prophet portion, I bless you with the resounding black and white truth of this two-word declaration of God’s character. 2020 has exercised, sometimes painfully, the insight you have into God’s design – His Wisdom principles set in place for good and not for harm. The poverty spirit, loud and demanding, is the antithesis of His Name, God provides. In every way 2020 has battered your God-given authority over the poverty spirit, I bless you with coming out of agreement with Satan’s lie that God’s nature withholds, punishes with less than, and sees to it that you never have enough. God provides. He is enough for He is your Source. All of life flows from Him. This day Prophet, strengthen your grip on the unshakeable character of Jehovah-Jireh. God provides. What does your life need from His store of provision? You but need ask from a sincere heart. The Life-giver provides.

Servant

Jehovah-Rophe – your Father’s Name that is the very Balm of Gilead. God heals. 2020 has been a year that has stretched the core of who you are. The victim spirit to which you are susceptible has whined and dined you in attempt to shut down your principle of authority. Authority over the spirit of death, and especially the premature death spirit. Servant portion, if ever you needed to know that God heals, 2020 is proof. Jehovah-Rophe is God’s present-day Name; He declared of Himself that He is the unchangeable One. Servant, your spirit portion knows that death does not come just to the physical, but to all areas of life. The spirit of death reaches into spiritual life, relational life, purposed life. I bless you, Servant, with Prophet’s vision of God’s design lending its strength, to set aside the legitimacy issues that feed the victim spirit and deadens life. I bless you with frequent immersion in the Balm of Gilead – your Father’s nature, will, and power to heal. It is His healing for whatever in life ails you, Servant spirit, that increases the authority you are designed to carry to others. In His time and in His way, that is His part. Yours, Servant, is to not prematurely sign a 2020 certificate of death. Trust. God heals.

The Mercy Cycles ~ A 2020 Blessing will continue. I bless you with looking for and seeing in these closing days of December 2020, the fingerprints of your Father’s nature and presence in your life and lives of those you love.

¹ The first cycle was completed at the end of 2006; the second cycle, the end of 2013. To you, dear reader, I say consider the pattern. What was significant in your life 2000-2006, culminating in the Mercy year 2006? And then, 2007 through Mercy year 2013? 2014-2020? I highly recommend some devotional contemplation of these Mercy cycles. Our heavenly Father is a God of Justice and matchless Mercy. To engage in this as nurture for your spirit and encouragement to your soul is to bear witness to the reality of this precious gift of grace.
